STEP 1: Evaluate your finances to determine the price you can afford. You may even want to meet with a mortgage specialist and get pre-qualified so you know exactly what you can afford.
STEP 2: Determine your areas of interest.
STEP 3: Make a list of "must have" and "would like to have" features in a home.
STEP 4: Choose an agent and qualify/interview him or her. Ask questions about his or her experience, track record, negotiating skills, market knowledge, understanding of financial options, and the types of services he or she provides.
STEP 5: Arrange a meeting to discuss the specifics of your search (i.e. price, type of home, area, space requirements, parking, etc.)
STEP 6: Based on those specifics, we will provide you with full addresses and detailed descriptions of all homes that meet your criteria of search.
STEP 7: Select the homes you like and take a "drive by" to determine the outside appeal of the homes and the neighbourhood. (We recommend you use the mapping process, i.e. locate and mark those homes on the map prior to going out as it will save you time.)
STEP 8: After the preview, contact us with the addresses of those homes that caught your interest. We will then make arrangements for you to inspect them. This exercise will give you a tremendous market knowledge and understanding of your buying options as well as help you clarify your likes and dislikes. We will then provide you with newly added listings on a daily basis that match your criteria.
